Finaly i get to an end with this work ( hope at least ) .
When i started i had no idea what i want to do , i just knew that i want to combine 2D with 3D . And here it is . The front is 3D except girls hair , modeled in blender , textured in gimp .
About girls hair i chosed to paint it cause i was not able to get some good results using blender hair.
The background is some kind of matte painting.
The compositing made with photoshop.

Work time : I think more than 50 hours.

Any crits and pieces of advice are most welcomed .

In my opinion this is the most complex work i've done so far. I used mainly matte painting with about 10-15 photos of reference, 3d modeling for the 3d castle thing in the background and painting the lady.
Also to place the castle in the right position and perspective i had to do a basic cammera mapping.
The original ressolution was 4k but i resized for detail at 2k.
I used GIMP mostly and Blender for the 3d parts ,and spent about 25-30 hours.

I did this one for exercise , and i tried to give it a fanasty atmoshpere.
Time was about 20 hours, using about 15-20 reference photos and s a lot of over paint and adjustments.

This is an old scene that i did for exercise. The modeling and rendering was done in Blender and the textures and composition in GIMP. Total time was 15h. Rendering time 1,5h.

I made this matte painting starting from i photo made by me and i modified the mountains and almost everything in it. I used mainly photos and samples for the things i had to paint and took about 10 hours to do this. Hi , this is my first work that i post here. It's a matte painting made with GIMP , using a Trust tablet . I used real pictures from the web for the right side of the image and the rest was painted using samples.
